Meet Noel Gallo

Noel Gallo is a lifelong resident of Oakland, and a proven community leader. For over 30 years Noel has worked diligently to represent and advocate for District 5 families and children as the incumbent City Councilmember for District 5. Noel is very honored that he was also elected to serve on the Oakland Board of Education, District 5 for several terms. Noel’s strong community partnerships are building a strong, safe and clean city.

Noel collaborates with neighbors, families, community and elected leaders to support great schools, affordable housing, thriving businesses, jobs access, improved public services and increased private and public investments. Noel continues to implement an “Actions speaks louder than words” work ethic and has been a tireless advocate for equitable resource distribution of funding and city services to District 5 and East Oakland’s neighborhoods.

Noel – An Effective Advocate for Oakland District 5

For the past twelve years Noel has advocated for and facilitated significant investments in District 5 housing, infrastructure, commercial and industrial development, jobs, education, community services and cultural activities. Through Noel’s leadership and guidance, significant resources, development and investments have been made in District 5. He continues to be committed to Clean Safe City, homelessness solutions, housing production, business development and support, infrastructure improvement, and ensuring good government practices.

Noel & His Family

Noel has been married to Aliza for over forty years. Together, they have raised four children that attended Fremont High and Oakland High Schools and are graduates of Stanford University and UC Berkeley, and Masters' Programs from UC Davis, Santa Clara University, California State East Bay and UCLA.

Noel grew up in East Oakland and lives in the Fruitvale neighborhood. He attended local schools and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Business Degree.
